ArchaeoPLUS (Practical Learning Under Supervision) Inc. is a nonprofit organization, chartered under the laws of the State of Alabama with no paid officers or staff, which is dedicated to bridging the gap between traditional academic training and the practical skills required in the fields of archaeology, anthropology, history, and others. Founded in April 2024, our mission is simple yet ambitious: to equip the next generation of archaeologists with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed professionally.
Our first field school, coming in June 2025, will take place over the summer and last one month, immersing participants in a real-world CRM project. We also plan to offer a range of weekend and week-long workshops focusing on essential archaeological techniques like photogrammetry and ground-penetrating radar, providing critical skills rarely covered in traditional programs.
