Academic Credits, Certificates, and Transcripts

The allocation of credits is contingent upon the nature of the undertaken project. Single Day and Weekend (2 day) projects do not qualify for college credit. Week-long projects (comprising a minimum of 40 hours of direct instructional hours) may be deemed eligible for up to 2 credit units, while month-long projects (spanning 4 weeks with a minimum of 160 direct instructional hours) may qualify for up to 8 credit units. Regardless of project duration, students will be assigned a letter grade in accordance with the grading assessment and matrix outlined in each syllabus.

Upon completion, two official transcripts will be dispatched, with one sent to the permanent address specified in the student's online application and the other forwarded to the home institution. Additional transcript requests can be made through the National Student Clearinghouse. It is noteworthy that the reading load, time investment, and intensive methods training components align with the expectations of advanced undergraduate research seminars commonly found in most universities and colleges. Consequently, these courses should be considered akin to upper-division classes at the student's home institution.

Students are strongly advised to engage in proactive discussions with their school official(s) concerning the transferability of credit units before participating in any projects. During these discussions, typically with the Registrar, Study Abroad Adviser, or Academic Adviser, students should present a printed copy of the field school syllabus. Certain universities may necessitate a Consortium Agreement to be endorsed by A+, and we are amenable to such requirements.
